Wednesday, July 3, the British cyclist achieved another of his masterpieces: by triumphing in the sprint at the fifth stage of the Tour de France, he added another victory to the 34 he had already secured at the Tour de France. As a result, he broke the record previously shared with a legend, Eddy Merckx, who had set it between 1969 and 1975, half a century ago.

Green is a reference to the Tour de France Green Jersey, the symbol of the best sprinter. The bright yellow represents the prestige of the yellow jersey, a symbol of leadership in the Tour de France, and pays tribute to his victories at the Grande Boucle. Blue, red and black complete the paint job, recalling the colours of the rainbow and the road World Champion title won in 2011 in Copenhagen.
